If it takes 20 yrs. would you hold on?

To whom much is given, much will be required (Luke 12:48). For if you remain silent at this time, relief and deliverance will arise from another place, and who knows but that you have come to your position for such a time as this?  Esther 4:14

In 2002, this caught my attention.

Task force to tackle dropout rate

Humble Beginnings.

After ten years in secondary education, death of mother, and a call to the ministry, my energy was redirected to make an even higher impact in the lives of males of color.

The pursuit began in the summer 2004 with the creation of a two-week pilot program to include twelve teens and parents.

The goal, strengthen students family, academics, community, coupled with social skills and exposure experiences. This pilot would be called FACS.

In 2005, I began the pursuit of my Masters degree in Community Development from Prairie View A&M University. Here, my desire would be to bring attention to educational issues on the horizon. (See video: Wake up Everybody.) The research would evolve into the birth of the FACS Program of Houston, "Giving young people tools to succeed."

Professional Journey.

Spring 2009, two principals Ernest Washington and Melvin McGowen provided an opportunity for our signature workshop "Making Winning Decisions for Teens" (see video: MWD for Teens). Additionally, Melvin McGowen provided an opportunity for our FACS student assembly. Upon completion I visited with the Superintendent of Schools inquiring of additional opportunities for the program.

From 2009-11, the program began servicing 100 students each on three campuses. The goal: To strengthen student attendance, discipline and grades. (See video: F.A.C.S. Program of Houston PSA).

Also, two additional campus signed on for limited components. At the conclusion I began to author Education in America: "Together, we can put it back on track", by Smashwords e-book publishing to share our transition and intervention program.

In 2014, I reached out to my brother Morrell (Flip) for assistance in training and curriculum writing. This moved us from handouts to curriculum. In 2017, we began through Create Space publishing company, to produce our 6x9 23-32 page individual color workbooks. In 2018, we created the Full Volume Set, 8.5x11, 123 page color FACS Youth Intervention Series complete with facilitator and participant guides.

As of 2019, we're on Amazon with worldwide distribution.  May our life's work assist others. Thank you, big brother for your assistance in "Giving young people tools to succeed".  God has truly been good to us!  May you rest in peace. - It' Is Finished.
